Greenville SC Benefits from 2,000 New Jobs in 2011

 On October 31st  the Greenville Area Development Corp. (GADC) made its 17th announcement of the year.  Scio Diamond Technology Corp is establishing its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Greenville.  This announcement continues to reinforce what those of us who live here already know.  Greenville South Carolina continues to buck national economic trends with $200 million dollars in new capital investment and 2,000 new jobs in 2011.

Scio Diamond Technology Corp has a patented process for a technology that doesn’t exist elsewhere in the world, creating diamonds in a laboratory.  Scio diamonds will not only be sold as gemstones, but will be used in electronics for power and heat transfer as well as in medical advances.  These diamonds will be the cutting edge to making scalpels.   Over the next 5 years this new facility is expected to hire on 70 employees in hi-tech, high level, high paying jobs.
