Born and raised in the Bronx, my family moved to NJ when I was in 8th grade. I attended high school and college in Monmouth County, NJ. My corporate career of 22 years was with Exxon on 6th Ave in NYC and then Florham Pk, NJ. When my husband and I married in 1979, we resided in an apartment in Essex County, NJ and in 1983 we purchased our first home (interest rates were through the roof back then!). Then in 1995 we relocated to the Upstate of South Carolina and still live in the home we purchased back then.
My love of real estate began in 1986 while I was working at my career in the oil and gas industry. One seminar was all it took for me to attend classes so that I could attain my license to sell real estate. Because I was working a full time job I had to attend Saturday classes for weeks on end and at last, the day came when I took and aced the NJ State Real Estate Licensing Exam. I immediately entered into the real estate arena of rentals as a part-time agent. The sense of accomplishment that I felt when I helped someone find an apartment, condo, town home or private home to lease was at a much higher level than anything I had ever experienced in my corporate job, which I excelled at. No matter how much I loved my job and the yearly 14% pay increases, it didn’t take me long to realize that real estate is where I wanted to hang my hat. When I finally made the decision to leave my job (which was not an easy decision to make), I joined ITT Sheraton and worked as a Lands Sales Agent in their NJ office selling land in the community they were building in Florida, Palm Coast.
I can honestly say I love being a Realtor® because I truly love helping others. Real estate is so much more than finding the right home for someone. It is about building relationships and communication. There is nothing more rewarding than when you can help another to achieve their goals. More than that you are blessed with meeting people from all walks of life. I have been very fortunate to walk through my life creating new memories and new friendships.
As a seller’s agent, I constantly research the market and property values so your home is priced effectively from day one. My long standing reputation as a buyer’s agent means I know the market, and that’s a big plus when it comes to pricing your home. I also make sure the public knows your home is for sale by using innovative advertising and marketing techniques to attract potential buyers. I do not believe solely in the 3 P’s: Put sign in yard, Put listing in MLS, and Pray.
I have 20yrs real estate experience under my belt with 16 of those years applied to residential sales in the counties of Greenville, Laurens, Pickens and Spartanburg, South Carolina. I have carried the designation of Realtor® since 2005. Combine my real estate knowledge with 30ys corporate discipline, 40 yrs of international customer service skills and 23 yrs of internet experience…well, a Realtor® such as myself does not come a dime per dozen.
